Fleur of England 'Brigitte' Set |
Every so often we get in a lingerie collection that has a destiny. Most of our pieces are divine in so many situations, it just seems simple: you buy it, you wear it, it's beautiful! But sometimes the pieces seem to have a life of their own, a call for a future, a purpose in this world.
The 'Brigitte' collection from Fleur of England is one of these collections.

This is lingerie for sunshine.
It desires the heat of sun on skin, soft freckles and summer dresses... humid walks under Spanish Moss-filled trees, down winding Paris boulevards in July as the light fades, or with waves crashing in the background on a tropical beach somewhere.... the faint scent of coconut and sunblock. Barely-there makeup and tousled hair, this is certainly lingerie for the ingenue.
The soft sheen of the cotton/silk blend makes it perfect for exactly this - the natural fibers are soft, comfortable, and will breathe with the heat. Eyelet detailing and beautiful straps only makes it more feminine. With either a low hipster-panty or thong & a shaped underwired balconette or sweet soft-cup bra, there is a charming option for every shape and preference.
The life this lingerie is destined to live seems to far from Portland weather right now, but it also gives me hope. Those summer days DO come to our Pacific NW shores (eventually), and this is a set I can't wait to wear around town on those days of sun worship. Those of you taking trips to sunnier shores can tuck this away in your luggage, knowing it's more than prepared for the sunny-seduction task.
But I can also see sneaking this set on a little ahead of time. On one of the many rainy days where the grey seems interminable, having an homage to the sun tucked under everyday-apparel would be a wonderful reminder that it's coming, and lend a little credence to those momentary meditations on a warmer place... We all need a little hope, sometimes.
Spring shipments are arriving at the door every day. Stop by soon to peek at all the beauties.
